advice /əd'vaɪs/ n.勸告；忠告；建議
eg：You should follow his advice.
你應(yīng)該聽從他的勸告。
Can you give me a piece of advice about English learning?
你能就英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)給我一條建議嗎？
advice為不可數(shù)名詞，表示“一條建議”常用a piece of advice，“兩條建議”要用two pieces of advice，表示“許多建議”要用much advice。
常用短語(yǔ)：give sb. some advice＝give some advice to sb.
給某人一些建議；
take one's advice
接受某人的建議。
advise為動(dòng)詞，其固定結(jié)構(gòu)有：advise sb. to do sth.，意為“建議某人做某事”，advise sb. not to do sth.，意為“建議某人不要做某事”。
eg：Everyone advised him to live with his daughter.每個(gè)人都建議他與女兒住在一起。
I advise you not to listen to music when you are doing your homework.
我建議你寫作業(yè)時(shí)不要聽音樂。

辨析the number of與a number of
the number of
意為“……的數(shù)量或總數(shù)”，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞要用單數(shù)形式。
a number of
意為“大量的，許多的”，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞一般用復(fù)數(shù)形式。number前可用large，small來(lái)修飾。
